Frequently Asked Questions
NDIS In-Home Care refers to the full range of disability support services delivered within a participant’s own home to help them live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible. It includes personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, medication management, mobility assistance, overnight care, capacity building, and therapy support implementation. In-home care is funded through the NDIS Core Supports budget under Assistance with Daily Life and is available to participants whose NDIS plans include this funding category. It is appropriate for participants of all ages and disability types who require support within their home environment due to their disability.
Yes, and this is one of the significant advantages of choosing Grace Care as your in-home care provider. We deliver the full range of in-home supports including personal care, household tasks, overnight care, meal preparation, and capacity building under one coordinated arrangement. Having a single provider managing all your in-home supports creates consistency, reduces administrative complexity, and ensures the different elements of your care work together coherently rather than being delivered in isolation by different providers.
In-home safety is managed through multiple overlapping measures including thorough home environment assessment during intake, comprehensive participant needs assessment covering all relevant safety factors, worker matching based on the skills and training required for each participant’s specific in-home care needs, clear written care plans that specify safe approaches to every care task, regular review and quality monitoring of in-home care delivery, and clear incident reporting and response protocols. All Grace Care in-home care workers are NDIS-screened, trained in manual handling and safe care practices, and supervised by experienced management throughout their engagement.
Yes. Grace Care provides in-home care at whatever times align with the participant’s daily routine and support needs. Morning routines, evening personal care, weekend household assistance, overnight support, and any other timing requirement is accommodated within the in-home care schedule. We design rosters entirely around the participant’s life and we treat punctuality in in-home care delivery as a non-negotiable professional standard.
Grace Care maintains a qualified, trained backup staffing pool to manage unexpected absences in in-home care arrangements. We notify participants as early as possible and ensure replacement workers are thoroughly briefed on the participant’s care plan, home environment, and personal preferences before attending. We never send an unprepared worker to a participant’s home. Continuity and quality of care are maintained even when scheduled workers are unavailable.
Yes. Grace Care has specific capability in complex in-home care delivery, including support for participants with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, degenerative neurological conditions, complex behaviour support needs, and high medical support requirements. Complex in-home care arrangements involve additional assessment, specialist worker training, and strong clinical coordination with the participant’s health team. We discuss complex care requirements in detail during the intake process to ensure we have the right people, training, and systems in place to deliver safe, high-quality care.
